Lenovo claims 40% share in gaming notebooks in November and year of ...

Although Lenovo only closes the fiscal year in March 2020, this is a balance sheet month and the figures shared at a press meeting show the company's satisfaction with its sales performance in Portugal, and good expectations for next year, in consumption and in the professional area.

Vasco Oliveira, responsible for the consumer area, says that this was another year of growth for Lenovo, underlining that “in November we broke the market share record with a quarter of the consumer market”, he explains, highlighting the provision of the gaming, where in November recorded 40% of total segment sales.

In the consumer area Vasco Oliveira says that Lenovo is number 1 in ultra thins and has almost 50% share in convertibles. “We are not just leaders in the most traditional notebooks, which we no longer have and we no longer bring to the market,” he explains. The trend is towards more premium products, as Vasco Oliveira had already highlighted.

During Black Friday Lenovo achieved “the best market share ever”, said SAPO TEK, explaining that they occupied “the second position in the market with 25% in units”, in the total of November.

The desktop area is still performing well, and this year Lenovo has also launched new categories, with monitors and smart devices, which although not available in Portuguese are already in Portugal with some retailers and have achieved a good acceptance.

The professional market also remains one of Lenovo's “bastions”, and Miguel Coelho says it is “well on its way to being a very good year in the professional arena”. The executive who this year took the lead in Lenovo's professional area at Iberian level says that in the last quarter the brand reached the leadership in the Portuguese market in B2B laptops and that “everything indicates that by the end of the year we will be number 1 in Portugal.

Miguel Coelho also highlights the dynamics of the Portuguese market and the events in which the brand was present, especially the Web Summit where Lenovo had for the first time an exhibition space that will repeat in the 2020 edition.
