Bringing the community closer to science through knowledge of the work of researchers. This is the purpose of the "Conversations with Science", free sessions that will start this Sunday, January 19, in Serralves Park, Porto.
Promoted by the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR), University of Porto, in partnership with the Serralves Foundation, the sessions will take place once a month, always on Sunday morning. The protagonists will be CIIMAR's researchers, who will make the work they have developed known to the community.
The first session of “Conversas com Ciência” takes place this Sunday, at 11 am in Parque de Serralves, with a conversation with Professor Vítor Vasconcelos, director of CIIMAR. In line with the development objectives established by the United Nations General Assembly, the themes of the sessions also include issues such as "Protecting marine life", "Climate action" and "Quality health".
The event comes as an “aperitif” for CIIMAR's 20th anniversary celebrations and the capacity is subject to space limitations. More information available on the official website of CIIMAR and the Serralves Foundation.
