2020 is the year that we will get to know the new PlayStation 5 and with it will surely come new controls. Although we still don't know what either looks like, Polygon found a new patentSony recorded what appears to be the new DualShock 5. The model is very similar to the one that was released with the PS4, but has one feature: programmable rear buttons.
The portal intersected with these documents on the World Intellectual Property Organization website and the technical illustrations reveal similarities to the design of the PlayStation 4 controls. The differences are in the back buttons and the fact that there is no PS button.
Note that this addition meets an accessory that Sony recently announced for the DualShock 4. This accessory brings these same back buttons to the PS4's controls. The accessory will be launched in late January.
Polygon writes that the buttons on this patented controller can move elsewhere, meaning that the controller itself can be customized even at the design level. Note, however, that the patent is not synonymous with the command being made or being thought for a possible release. Previously we have seen other patents registered by the Japanese company that showed us other game controls, so these drawings may only be tests conducted by the technology giant.
