MINI has already chosen the 10 finalists who will pass the CITY SHAPER by MINI Urban-X project final. The challenge is to find national startups that develop ideas in areas ranging from transportation to local government, to real estate, food, water, waste and utilities that can improve the lives of people in cities.

From a total of 49 applications, only 10 companies were selected for the next phase of the challenge: BeON Energy, AQVA MORE, QART, Bandora, Pavnext, Oscar, Knok Healthcare, Live Electric Tours, eParkio and LUGGIT. . In preparation for the grand final on December 20, the finalists will now participate in a bootcamp where they can put the finishing touches to their pitch.

In the area of ​​energy, BeON Energy has developed a photovoltaic system that makes it easier for consumers to enter the home solar world by removing installation costs. Already Bandora It uses artificial intelligence to help countries improve their energy efficiency. Pavnext has developed a system that uses the car's kinetic energy to create and allocate electricity to other destinations, such as street lighting, and won the 5th edition of Big Smart Cities in 2017.

For the projects most focused on transport and mobility, the Commission Live Electric Tours wants to provide a self-driving experience with 100% electric cars for tourists and the eParkio Promises to help you find a place to park through a mobile application. On the one hand, Oscar wants to be a UBER for domestic services and on the other, LUGGIT is a platform for organizing luggage transport.

Still highlighted is the project of AQVA MORE, which aims to save water in hot water taps; the da Knok healthcare, which wants to develop a health technology SaaS, offering solution for remote consultations; and yet the QART that wants to pass the paradigm of possession of environmental information to civil society.

The project that wins the challenge will take part in the MINI URBAN-X exhibition in Lisbon from February to March 2020 and will also have the opportunity to visit the A / D / O space in New York and participate in the MINI URBAN-X Demo Day.
