Skiing can be a tricky activity to do, especially when it comes to all the associated logistics. For the equation comes all the equipment, transportation and remote location of the main tracks, which when added to the ideal weather conditions for the practice of the sport, only complicate the process that precedes the first descent.
The complications are shared by all skiers and Uber knows it. And that is exactly why the company recently announced Uber Ski, a lift service that ensures transportation not only for passengers, but for all their equipment. The company justifies this new offer with the difficulty that skiers have in finding rides for the slopes, especially when they need to carry so much equipment with them.
The service requires an additional fee, but it will always be cheaper than renting a car to the ski slope or mounting racks on your daily vehicle – if it is qualified for that purpose.
To attract drivers to this new ride typology, Uber will offer a higher percentage of the amount paid by the customer.
Uber Ski will be available from December 17, but at an early stage, only in 23 North American regions known for ski resorts.
