You'll be able to share the same screen with a friend in Fortnite on PS4 and Xbox One

Epic Games has updated Fortnite and added some new features to the popular battle royale action game. The highlight is the introduction of split-screen functionality in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, which means you'll be able to split the screen in half to play with a friend or family member on the same console and television.

Sharing can be played in Duos (for two players) or Squads (teams of four) modes, thus ensuring that both friends are placed on the same team on the map.

Another new feature is the introduction of the Item Shop feature, this time for the mobile version. This allows players to preview, in preview mode, the new items that are available in the store, even before loading the game. To do so, they will have to access the Party Hub menu by sliding their finger to the side of the screen and pressing the "Preview Items" button.

For those who thought that the three daily gifts, which encourage players to return to the game, were few on the three daily offers. That number has been increased to five now. There are other changes and several bug fixes which you can confirm in official blog.

It is important to note that next Saturday, the 14th, Fortnite will host a new exclusive Star Wars scene: The Rise of Skywalker live in Risky Reels, with director J. J. Abrams himself present at 7 pm (Lisbon time). Therefore, all players must attend half an hour in advance, putting away their weapons, to watch the event on the giant screen.

Finally, it is rumored that Epic Games is considering launching an annual pass with exclusive items for players who subscribe.
